YR 1 – Mrs Betton & Mrs Cheetham
In the Autumn term we will be learning about our Key Stage 1 class animals otters, owls and penguins. Then we will be finding out about habitats in our ‘Enchanted Wood’ topic.
In R.E. we will be focussing on how we show that we care for each other.
For indoor P.E. (Fridays) our focus is balance, while in outdoors (Tuesdays,) we are developing our agility.
The children will be now be receiving one French lesson each week.
Spellings – words will be sent home on Thursday to practise before a dictation activity the following week.
Reading – all children are expected to enjoy a reading experience four times a week at home. Please see your child’s reading diary for reading ideas.
Maths – your child may be given a maths activity to complete at home.
Indoor kit – dark shorts, white t-shirt.
Outdoor kit – trainers or pumps, jumper or hoodie, tracksuit or jogging bottoms.
Earrings must be removed prior to school on P.E days. Spare socks are useful to have in P.E bags.
Key Stage 1 children do indoor PE in bare feet. Please let us know if your child has a verruca as this will need to be covered.

22/11/2017 - We will be holding an open morning on 22nd November at 9.00am for parents who are considering our FS2 class in September 2018. If you would like to book a place and meet the team and have a guided tour of the school please ring and book a place on 01246 279254.
If your child was born between 1st September 2013 and 31st August 2014 they will be eligible to start school in September 2018. The portal opens on 13th November 2017 and you should apply by 15th January, your offer of a place in a school will be made on 16th April 2018.
