YR 2 – Miss Pratt – Mam Tor
n the Autumn term we will be learning about our Key Stage 1 class animals otters, owls and penguins. Then we will be finding out about habitats in our ‘Enchanted Wood’ topic. In R.E. we will be focussing on how we show we care for each other. In indoor P.E. (Thursday) our focus is balance, while outdoors (Tuesday) we are developing our agility. On European Day of Languages (Tuesday 26th September) the children will be learning about a variety of cultures from different countries.
Spellings – words will be sent home to practise before a dictation activity the following week (Tuesday)
Reading – all children are expected to enjoy a reading experience four times a week at home. Please see your child’s reading diary for ideas for activities.
Times tables –children will need to practise their times table target for a timed task each week
Maths – your child may be given a maths activity to complete at home
Indoor kit – dark shorts and white t-shirt
Outdoor kit – trainers or pumps, jumper or hoodie, tracksuit or jogging bottoms
Spare socks are also useful
Key Stage 1 children do indoor PE in bare feet. Please let us know if your child has a verruca as this will need to be covered
