Susan Chapman – Headteacher
I am very honoured to be on the Governing Board at Hady primary in my capacity as Head teacher. I have been Head at Hady since 2010 and during this time I have seen the school become the heart of the community. The school is rated as good with good attainment and progress. As the head at Hady I see the importance of working with the Governing board to ensure we continue to offer a first class education to the pupils at Hady and ensure pupils are happy, safe and secure
James Gray – Chair
My name is James Gray I have been a governor since September 2014 and am currently Chair of the Governing Body and the Finance Committee. As Chair I attend all committee / full governing body meetings as well as visiting school regularly to receive updates on school progress.
I am married with one child who attends Hady. I also attended Hady from 1979-1987. I work as a Financial Accountant at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
I relish the challenges offered by volunteering as a Governor and enjoy putting something back both into the community and the school that taught both myself and my son.
Diane Ball – Co-opted Governor, Vice Chair
My name is Diane Ball, I have been on the governing body of Hady Primary school for the past fifteen years, for the majority of the time I was a local authority governor and for the last few years I have been a co-opted governor, I currently hold the position of vice chair and have a particular interest in the Early Years aspect of school life and also any areas of safeguarding.
I am proud to be a governor of Hady and can say with honesty what a good school I feel Hady is , both of my grown up sons attended Hady, they both enjoyed their time at Hady and were given a good base of which to continue their education after moving on to high school.
Annette Yeomans – Co-opted Governor
I have worked in primary education for over thirty years as a supply teacher, including time at Hady Primary School. I was a parent governor for twelve years at the school my three daughters attended and I visit Hady one morning a week as a volunteer in FS2.
I feel these experiences allow me to make a balanced and positive contribution to decisions regarding the development of the school which ensures staff and children can work to their full potential in a safe and stimulating environment.
Rebecca Fenby – Parent Governor
I joined the governing body in 2012 as a parent governor. I decided to volunteer because my eldest child had started at the nursery and I knew that between my two girls our family would be attending the school for the next 11 years and I was interested in getting more involved. I had previously served on a governing body at another primary school and had worked in several other primary schools, so I had some experience both of the environment and of the role of a governor.
I take very seriously my responsibility to bring parent concerns and queries to the governing body, including problems with the school drive/DCC footpath, and I will continue to work hard for the benefit of the pupils at Hady for as long as I am needed!
Julie Shevloff – Staff Governor
Hello. My name is Julie Shevloff. I teach the Year 1 Busy Bee class and I am the staff governor.
I have two adult sons who both came to Hady school. I have always found it to be a happy environment to learn and grow in and both my children thoroughly enjoyed their time here.
I enjoy my role on the governing board as it allows me to feel part of the whole school team. My role as staff governor allows me to share the successes of teaching with the governing body as well as the day to day practice within the classrooms.
I consider myself very fortunate to work for such a caring and nurturing school and being part of such a strong governing body ensures that the school continues to flourish.
Dr Ian Shepherd
I am the educational psychologist for Hady Primary School and I was pleased to be invited to be one of the Co-opted Governors. I was trained at London University, The Tavistock Clinic and later did my Doctorate at Sheffield University. After my training in London I moved back to Derbyshire with my family. I have worked as an educational psychologist for Derbyshire since moving here.
My association with Hady Primary School is longstanding during which I have tried to use my knowledge and experience in child development, psychology and education to help the children in school experience the benefits which the school has to offer. I look forward to making additional contributions to the life of the school through the work of the governing body.
I feel very honoured to have recently been appointed as a Co-opted Governor of Hady Primary school. As a member of the local community for a number of years and with my experience as a teacher of 34 years, hopefully, I can help the pupils of our school to achieve their full potential through the decision making process of the governing team.
Although my background is mainly educational, my recent experiences have been in property development and now in the gardening business. My two sons and their wives are all teachers and one also runs a gymnastics class for children.
I am looking forward to making any contribution I can to furthering the achievements of pupils at Hady.
